Panagrellus redivivus as a live food organism in the early rearing of the catfish Synodontis petricola (Matthes)

The nematode Panagrellus redivivus (Linné) has been suggested as a source of live food in the rearing of larval fish and shrimp species. This study tested the use of P. redivivus in the early rearing of the bottom-feeding catfish Synodontis petricola (Matthes). A comparison of feeding rates of 5000–10 000 nematodes larva−1 day−1 showed that fish receiving 5000 nematodes larva−1 day−1 grew faster than those fed a dry diet, but slower than treatments fed 200 and 600 Artemia larva−1 day−1. Enrichment of nematodes with SuperSelco® improved fish growth relative to a non-enriched control treatment, with both treatments receiving 5000 nematodes larva−1 day−1. In the first two trials, feeding commenced 2 days after hatching. In the third study, fish were fed nematodes 6 days after hatching and there was no difference in growth between Artemia-fed fish (600 Artemia larva−1 day−1) and fish fed 5000 nematodes larva−1 day−1. Thus, it is suggested to feed S. petricola at a nematode density of at least 10 000nematodes larva−1 day−1 in order to achieve growth comparable to that of fish fed Artemia, or, alternatively, to feed 5000 nematodes larva−1 day−1 to improve growth relative to that achieved with a dry diet. Furthermore, nematodes may be enriched with essential fatty acids to improve the growth of S. petricola larvae.

Browser Hijack Solution 2018 ( Simple yet effective workaround )

Nowadays those hijacker are too smart, all traditional method we used before not working anymore, they know very well each coding in Windows & all wellknow browser better than Microsoft engineer, so we have to respect their hardword also. The workaround idea is simple: Create something that they don't know.

1. Right click browser > Properties > Open File Location.
2. Rename application exe > recreate browser shortcut.

2. Bagi yg breed ikan di dalam air ketapang pekat disarankan titiskan di dalam tudung penutup yg berisi air ikan biasa buat seketika sebelum diberikan kepada fry.

3. Titiskan 3 - 6 titik sekurang-kurangnya 2 kali sehari pada sebelah pagi dan petang bergantung kepada kuantiti anak ikan.

Why fish fries needs good water quality ?

Most fish breeder especially newbie has common issue that fries are missing ventral fins, low survivor rate, dropsy, fungus, shorter life etc. Their aim are to successfully get spawn, which neglet most important factor - the water quality.

Polluted water come from bad practice, which included:

FACTOR 1. Over feeding.
SOLUTION i : Siphon aquarium daily to wipe the bottom + adding new correct water.

SOLUTION ii : Introduce bottom eater such as orange ramshorn snail, can reduce changing water workload.

FACTOR 2. Dead water.
SOLUTION i: Get a betta specific design aquarium that come with soft silent filter.

SOLUTION ii: Setup green planted tank with lighting, soil and plant.

FACTOR 3. Over toxic ( Ammonia generate from poo & over feeding )
SOLUTION i : Get a betta specific design aquarium that come with soft silent filter + change water.

SOLUTION ii : Setup green planted tank with lighting, soil and plant + change water.

SOLUTION iii : Siphon aquarium daily to wipe the bottom + adding new correct water.

FACTOR 4. Wrong water parameter ( PH, KH, Clorine ).
SOLUTION i : Prepare enough correct water for changing use.

SOLUTION ii : Expose paip water to sunlight 2 - 3 days for remove clorine.

Conclusion:
Although some fish like betta and guppy are hardcore species, they do also deserve a better life by help them maintaining excellent water quality. Keeping fish is not a hobby that need passion but also some basic scientific knowledge.
